Chris and Kari Powell were married in 1995. They have been members of the Rising Sun Church of Christ since 1995. They have three children Emma, Kora, and Jacob.

Chris is a former United States Marine and Desert Storm Veteran. Chris is a graduate of Vincennes University with an A.S. in conservation Law Enforcement. Chris graduated from the Indiana Conservation Officer Recruit School in 1990 and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in the 106th session. As a Conservation Officer, Chris has served the sporting public and citizens of Indiana by protecting the natural resources to ensure that they can be enjoyed in a safe environment for generations to come. Chris is a certified First Responder for wilderness survival and medical aid. He is actively involved in developing ministry programs that mentor teenagers and adults in outdoor recreation and outdoor survival skills.

Chris is an avid outdoorsman. His God given passion for outdoor adventure has driven him develop this ministry. Chris also serves the Rising Sun Church of Christ as a teacher. “The Legacy Builders” is an adult Bible class where Chris and Kari minister to the couples to develop a lasting impact on their families and God’s church.

Kari graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a BA in Office Systems Technology and an Associates degree in Business Administration. She is certified in Food Administration. She spent 11 years teaching kids in 4-H dog training and 4 years with 4-H Horse and Pony. Kari home schools their three children. Kari is also active in women’s ministry and coordinates planning and ministry programming at The Vine. Kari’s heart for the Lord and compassion for people make her an effective conduit to spread God’s love to those that are fortunate to meet her.
